Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged a forceful approach in dealings with Russia, stating that it is the only language Russia understands. In a video message posted on X, Zelenskyy called for the ‘language of force’ to be the standard in all international engagements in the coming months.

Zelenskyy highlighted the importance of the upcoming June summits, vowing to ensure that both the G7 Summit in Canada and the NATO Summit in the Netherlands are not symbolic events. The G7 Summit is set to take place in Canada from June 15 to 17, 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to attend the G7 Summit by the newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Regarding the failed prisoner exchange, which was postponed due to disagreements, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is working to secure the release of its prisoners of war and the return of its fallen soldiers. He noted that Russia has yet to provide the complete lists for the prisoner exchange, as previously agreed upon in Istanbul.

Zelenskyy also accused Russia of attempting to manipulate the situation for political gain and reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to advancing the prisoner exchange process.
