Andriy Yermak, a key aide to Zelenskyy, confirmed he spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding the preparations for the meeting. Yermak took to X to share that he appreciated the discussion he had with Rubio and thanked him for his ongoing support. Russian President Vladimir Putin has voiced doubts regarding Zelenskyy’s authority to sign a treaty, yet signaled his openness to discussions aimed at peace.
