The torrential rain is causing water to cascade down from the mountainous areas. The intensity of the rainfall has prompted two black rainstorm alerts in the last 8 hours. This has also increased the risk of flooding and landslides. The southwest monsoon and atmospheric disturbances are cited as the main causes. The city’s topography, with its steep slopes and infrastructure, contributes to the rapid runoff of water, leading to strong currents on the roads.
