Washington is buzzing as the White House addresses fresh scrutiny over President Donald Trump’s past associations with the late Jeffrey Epstein. In a firm press briefing, spokesperson Caroline Leavitt reaffirmed the administration’s stance, emphasizing that Trump severed ties with Epstein years ago.

Leavitt highlighted Trump’s decisive action in banning Epstein from the Mar-a-Lago club due to inappropriate behavior. ‘The President has consistently stood by his statements,’ she declared, noting that Trump has been transparent about ending the relationship long before Epstein’s crimes came to light.

Newly released documents from the early 2000s mention a purported phone call between Trump and the Palm Beach police chief. Leavitt dismissed it cautiously: ‘It may or may not have happened; we don’t have confirmation.’ She reiterated the key fact—Epstein was ousted from Mar-a-Lago, a decision that holds true today.

Over 3 million pages of Epstein-related files have now been made public, showcasing the administration’s commitment to transparency. This move, Leavitt argued, brings truth to the forefront amid ongoing debates.

Questions about a potential pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell were swiftly shut down. ‘No such consideration is on the table,’ Leavitt stated, echoing Trump’s previous position.

Support was also voiced for Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who acknowledged past Epstein contacts during Capitol Hill testimony. ‘He’s a vital team member, and the President backs him fully,’ Leavitt affirmed.

Shifting to positives, Leavitt touted economic wins: the Dow surpassing 50,000 for the first time on Friday. She also praised a federal appeals court ruling upholding the administration’s migrant detention policy, marking nine straight months without illegal southern border crossings.

Epstein, a financier accused of sex trafficking, died in federal custody in 2019. Maxwell was later convicted on related charges. The case’s web of influential connections keeps it in the spotlight, with critics demanding full accountability from those named in the files.
