The White House is advocating for former President Donald Trump to be recognized with the Nobel Peace Prize, emphasizing his efforts in brokering peace agreements and ceasefires worldwide. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt cited Trump’s mediation efforts, highlighting that these achievements occurred at a rate of approximately one per month.

Leavitt specifically referenced Trump’s involvement in the Thailand-Cambodia conflict, claiming he secured an immediate ceasefire. She stated that Trump directly engaged with the leaders of both nations, linking the resumption of trade discussions to the end of the conflict. Leavitt added that Trump also facilitated the end of conflicts between various nations, including India and Pakistan.

India has refuted Trump’s claims, reiterating its stance that all matters pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir are to be addressed bilaterally. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that no world leader requested India to halt its military actions. Modi recounted a conversation with the US Vice President, where he was informed of a potential Pakistani attack, and responded with a warning of a strong retaliation. The cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was agreed upon after a phone call between the DGMOs of both countries.
