Let us tell you that the 86th CRPF Day parade was held on 17 April this year under the expanded ceremonies. CRPF Day is generally celebrated every year on 19 March, as India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel provided the flag to the CRPF in 1950.
This year, the special significance of the event in Neemuch is also because the ‘Crown Representative Police’ was established during British rule on 27 July 1939. After independence, on 28 December 1949, Sardar Patel named it ‘Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)’. Today CRPF is a strong pillar of internal security of the country, by standing in the front row on every challenging front, it is making its original mantra of “service and loyalty”.
