In a colorful celebration of cultural exchange, the Chinese Embassy in Washington DC organized a grand Chinese-American Youth Spring Festival event on Saturday. Over 500 teenagers from more than 20 US states and the capital joined Chinese Ambassador Xie Feng in marking the occasion with joy and enthusiasm.
The highlight was the stunning promo video for the China Media Group’s (CMG) Spring Festival Gala, captivating attendees with its festive spirit. A traditional Chinese cultural fair featured exquisite Suzhou embroidery, calligraphy, intricate paper-cutting, and the playful throwing arrow game, offering American guests an immersive taste of Lunar New Year traditions.
Ambassador Xie personally guided young Americans in crafting tangyuan, the symbolic sweet glutinous rice dumplings, fostering hands-on cultural bonding. Students who visited China last year shared vivid stories of warm hospitality, gleaming modern cities, and a tantalizing array of cuisines that left lasting impressions. Many expressed eagerness to return in 2026.
Short films like ‘Follow the Movie, Tour China’ and the CMG Gala promo further showcased China’s rich heritage and vibrant festivities, inspiring the audience. This event underscored the deepening ties between Chinese and American youth, promising brighter people-to-people connections ahead.
