Barbie Bassett, an established broadcaster and meteorologist with Jackson-based station WLBT, dropped the road “Fo’ shizzle my nizzle” all the way through a dialogue at the rapper’s wine industry on March 8, in line with the Mississippi Clarion Ledger.
The word originates from fellow rapper E-40′s utilization of an “izzle” suffix, Dictionary.com famous, and partly refers to a racial epithet.
WLBT Common Supervisor Ted Fortenberry, in a message to the Clarion Ledger, wrote that the station is “not able to touch upon body of workers issues.”
WLBT anchor Howard Ballou, previous to the apology, famous that the station had “significant inside conversations and discussions” following Bassett’s statement.
