Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) on Friday advised former Vice President Mike Pence to get up, step up and inform the entire fact about Donald Trump, the previous president’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election end result and his involvement within the fatal U.S. Capitol rise up.
Pence is already a pariah within the GOP for refusing to make a choice Trump over democracy and has not anything to lose, Raskin argued on MSNBC’s “All In With Chris Hates.” Pence drew complaint from MAGA Republicans this week after he mentioned Trump was once “mistaken” to assert Pence can have single-handedly overturned President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory.
Pence’s “very legalistic” remark on Trump and Jan. 6 might be an effort to curry choose with the previous president’s base, mentioned Raskin. However they hate Pence greater than they hate me,” the Democratic congressman cracked.
“They have been calling him a traitor on that day. They have been chanting, ‘Hold Mike Pence!’” he fact checked. “Pence must get up and keep in mind that our entire constitutional democracy is beneath assault now, and Donald Trump is certainly the risk. Does he suppose that was once kind of a one-day lapse within the in a different way just right habits of Donald Trump?”
