Following the US military’s recent strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, Donald Trump has voiced support for a “regime change” within the Islamic Republic. Using Truth Social, Trump questioned the current Iranian leadership’s capability to improve the nation. He also celebrated the success of the military operation, highlighting the precision of the strikes and the damage inflicted. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the operation, which targeted facilities in Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz, was successful in degrading Iran’s nuclear program. While the strikes were carried out, the US maintains they did not target Iranian troops or civilians. Trump’s statements reflect a shift in rhetoric regarding Iran’s government.
