Bhutan’s Prime Minister has openly supported the idea of India securing a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, emphasizing the need for reform within the organization. This backing was given during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. Tobgay stated that the UNSC should be a powerful force in addressing global issues and advocated for expanding the council to include deserving nations like India and Japan. The support comes after similar expressions of backing from BRICS nations in a recent meeting.
