President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine greeted India on its 79th Independence Day, and conveyed his hope that India will become involved in finding a resolution to the ongoing conflict with Russia. Zelenskyy recently spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focusing on collaborative efforts and the larger diplomatic context. He showed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s show of support for the Ukrainian people and highlighted the value of global unity. The leaders also decided to meet in person in September during the UN General Assembly and to arrange visits. This exchange comes at a time when the Russia-Ukraine war continues, and several nations are actively seeking ways to end the conflict. India has adopted a neutral stance, supporting peaceful resolutions while keeping strong relationships with both Russia and Ukraine.
