A Boeing 747-481 cargo aircraft experienced a critical runway overrun following its arrival from Dubai at Hong Kong International Airport on Monday. The wide-body freighter reportedly impacted a ground service vehicle during the landing phase, dragging it into the water at the runway’s edge. The incident led to a swift mobilization of emergency response personnel. Tragically, while the flight crew escaped serious injury, two ground crew members were killed. Recovery operations are underway, with parts of the aircraft and vehicle submerged in the water. The Civil Aviation Department has launched a comprehensive inquiry into the factors contributing to this deadly accident.
