Former US President Donald Trump has made it clear that Ukraine should forgo its NATO ambitions and its claims on Crimea. This statement was released prior to a planned gathering in Washington involving Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and other European figures. Trump’s comments, shared on Truth Social, suggested that President Zelenskyy could quickly resolve the conflict with Russia. Trump’s remarks underscored that Crimea should not be returned to Ukraine and that Ukraine should not seek NATO membership. President Zelenskyy, on the other hand, has called for stronger sanctions against Russia, particularly if a trilateral meeting involving himself, Trump, and Russian President Vladimir Putin does not occur.
