Donald Trump, the former US President, has issued a severe threat against Hamas, declaring that America “will have no choice but to go in and kill them” if the group continues its attacks on civilians in Gaza. This strong statement was posted on Trump’s Truth Social account and quickly circulated widely. “If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them,” he asserted. These remarks followed Trump’s observations in the Oval Office regarding the recovery of bodies in Gaza and the sluggish advancement of the peace deal. He depicted the recovery operations as a “gruesome process” where teams are unearthing many bodies, requiring meticulous separation. Trump provided a vivid and disturbing account of the scene, noting that “Some of those bodies have been in there a long time, and some are under rubble. They have to remove rubble. Some are in tunnels… that are way down under the earth.” The former president’s tone became considerably tougher when discussing the issue of Hamas’s weaponry. He insisted that Hamas must honor the US-brokered peace deal by relinquishing its arms. “We want the weapons to be given. They have agreed to do it. Now they have to do it. If they don’t do it, we will do it,” he stated to journalists. Trump’s warning was direct and unambiguous: “They are going to disarm, because they said they were going to disarm. And if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them.” He concluded by stating plainly, “They know I am not playing games.” The president’s statements were made during a working lunch with Argentinian President Javier Milei, occurring shortly after Washington revealed a significant $20 billion financial aid plan for Argentina. Trump’s forceful message suggests a potential shift towards prioritizing military action over prolonged diplomatic efforts in the Gaza conflict, indicating that his administration’s patience has worn thin.
