Amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza, protesters in Israel are imploring former US President Donald Trump to help secure the release of hostages. Demonstrations highlighted the need for a deal that addresses the war and secures the return of all captives. Trump mentioned that more hostages are expected to be freed in the near future, with ceasefire negotiations progressing in Doha. He acknowledged his envoy Steve Witkoff’s role. The talks, involving Israeli and Hamas delegations, are discussing a US-backed 60-day ceasefire proposal. Hamas has indicated that future temporary ceasefires will depend on a comprehensive agreement. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has condemned the international community’s inaction, calling for an end to US support for Israel’s military actions in Gaza.
