Washington is ramping up its military might as tensions with Iran escalate. President Donald Trump announced a bold move to quadruple production of top-tier American weapons, signaling a major shift in defense strategy.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump revealed details of a high-level meeting with CEOs from the nation’s leading defense firms. ‘We just finished a great meeting with the heads of America’s biggest defense manufacturing companies where we discussed production and production schedules,’ he wrote. ‘They have agreed to quadruple production of ‘exquisite class’ weapons. We want to get to the highest quantity levels as fast as possible.’
The announcement comes amid an ongoing eight-day exchange of attacks between US-Israel forces and Iran. Trump highlighted that expansion efforts began three months prior, with many new plants already operational. He noted an ‘almost unlimited supply’ of medium and upper-medium grade munitions, currently deployed in operations against Iran and recently in Venezuela.
Key players at the meeting included executives from BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Missile Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. States across the country are competing to host these expanded facilities, promising an economic boom alongside enhanced security.
On the other side, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian fired back, dismissing US demands for unconditional surrender as a pipe dream. ‘America wants Tehran to surrender unconditionally, but this dream won’t come true even on their deathbed,’ he declared on Saturday.
Pezeshkian referenced Trump’s Friday ultimatum, where the US leader insisted on surrender before any negotiations. The Iranian president also outlined a new policy: no attacks on Gulf neighbors unless their soil is used to strike Iran. This decision, approved by the interim leadership council, aims to de-escalate regional tensions.
‘E iran does not seek to heighten conflicts with these countries and will strive to avoid such attacks in the future,’ Pezeshkian added. The statement arrives on the eighth day of the US-Israel-Iran conflict, which erupted on February 28. Iran has targeted over 10 Middle Eastern nations, including Israel, in this period.
