President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held discussions at the White House, with the focus on the ‘Gaza Peace Plan.’ Trump expressed optimism about the peace deal, describing it as being ‘beyond very close.’ He emphasized the shared desire for peace in the Middle East among Muslim and Arab nations, asserting their support for the plan. Trump mentioned the active involvement of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, as a result of his recent conversations with their leaders. Netanyahu was welcomed by Trump at the White House prior to their meeting. On his Truth Social platform, Trump had previously posted a message conveying his hope for a monumental achievement in the Middle East, emphasizing the widespread support for a historic accord. The U.S. has put forth a 21-point plan aimed at resolving the Gaza conflict, amidst the ongoing stalemate in talks between Israel and Hamas following Israeli airstrikes. This proposal also aligns with the global push to end the conflict, which began after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. The Gaza health ministry reports that over 66,000 Palestinians have been killed in the ongoing conflict.
