Former US President Donald Trump has condemned Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s claims of victory in the recent conflict with Israel, and warned that the US could launch further air strikes against Iran. Trump, in a post on his Truth Social platform, accused Khamenei of lying about the war’s outcome. He stated he had previously prevented Khamenei’s assassination. Khamenei, in his first public comments since the ceasefire, said Iran had retaliated for US strikes. Trump said Khamenei’s remarks prompted him to halt talks aimed at easing sanctions. Trump has confirmed he would consider further air strikes. Iran has responded by suspending cooperation with the IAEA, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has suggested Iran may refuse future inspection requests. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz stated that Israel remained at war with Iran and had prepared plans to counter Iranian aggression.
