Donald Trump, on August 16, stated that a peace agreement is the best way to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He has also reportedly relayed a demand from Vladimir Putin to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, concerning territorial concessions. During a summit, Putin allegedly proposed freezing the front lines if Ukraine surrendered Donetsk. Zelenskyy has rejected this offer. The Ukrainian president is scheduled to travel to Washington to discuss the ongoing conflict and seek solutions. The meeting between Trump and Putin took place in Alaska, with the specifics of their discussions now being relayed to the Ukrainian leadership.
