Former US President Donald Trump announced that the US military had engaged in a second strike on a vessel originating from Venezuela, which was believed to be transporting narcotics. The strike, occurring in international waters, resulted in the deaths of three individuals. This action was directed against drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists within the SOUTHCOM area, according to Trump.

In a Truth Social post, Trump expressed his view that the illegal narcotics represented a grave danger to Americans. The post clarified that the strike was conducted on his orders. The post emphasized the violent nature of the targeted individuals and their connection to Venezuela. Trump issued a warning: ‘IF YOU ARE TRANSPORTING DRUGS THAT CAN KILL AMERICANS, WE ARE HUNTING YOU!’ He highlighted the devastating consequences of the cartels’ activities, which have taken a massive toll on American lives. Earlier on September 3, a separate strike killed 11 people targeting a boat connected to the Venezuelan cartel ‘Tren de Aragua’.
