New Delhi. Bharat Ratna ceremony was organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. During this, President Draupadi Murmu honored many personalities of the country with Bharat Ratna Award. President Murmu posthumously awarded Bharat Ratna to two former Prime Ministers of India, PV Narasimha Rao, Chaudhary Charan Singh, scientist MS Swaminathan, known as the father of the Green Revolution, and former Chief Minister of Bihar Karpoori Thakur.
All the awards were received by their families. PV Prabhakar Rao, son of former PM PV Narasimha Rao, received the honor given to his father from the President. At the same time, Jayant Chaudhary, grandson of Chaudhary Charan Singh and president of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), accepted the honor from Murmu. Swaminathan’s daughter Nitya Rao and Karpoori Thakur’s son Ramnath Thakur received Bharat Ratna from the President.
Let us tell you that the government had announced 5 Bharat Ratna awards this year. Veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani is also included in this.
