The ‘Mohammad Bin Abdullah Mosque’ to be built in Ayodhya will have bricks made of special black soil of Mecca pure from ‘Aab-e-Zamjam’.

Lucknow. A special black clay brick has been sent from Mecca for the ‘Mohammad Bin Abdullah Mosque’ to be built in Dhannipur village, 20 km from Ayodhya. It also has gold ‘verticals’ engraved on it. This brick, purified from Mecca’s ‘Aab-e-Zamzam’, will be used in the foundation of the mosque in the presence of clerics from all sects – Deobandi, Tablighi, Sunni and Sufi. While giving the verdict on Ram temple, the Supreme Court had said to give five acres of land to the Muslim side in Ayodhya. According to the decision, the Uttar Pradesh government has allotted 5 acres of land to the UP Central Sunni Waqf Board for the mosque in Dhannipur village, 20 km from Ayodhya. The construction of this mosque, known as ‘Mohammad Bin Abdullah Mosque’, will start from the month of April.

Chairman of the Mosque Development Council, Haji Arafat Sheikh, said, “The mosque will be the first center of “dua” and “dawa” in the country, which will give the message of “love” and communal harmony.” Shaikh returned from Hajj last week with the brick, and now plans to take it to the prestigious Sufi shrine of Ajmer Sharif in Rajasthan. Sheikh said, “I took the brick to Mecca and Medina, purified it thoroughly and now I will take it to Ajmer Sharif before taking it to Ayodhya.”

Interestingly, they are also planning the country’s largest 21-feet long Quran in Chishti (saffron) color associated with the Sufi sect. Sheikh is the former chairman of Maharashtra State Minorities Commission and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2018. He was earlier with Shiv Sena. UP Sunni Board Chairman Zafar Farooqui had appointed him chairman of the development committee to oversee the construction of the mosque by All India Raabta-e-Masjid three months ago.

According to Sheikh, the foundation of the mosque will be laid in front of clerics of all sects in the country and abroad. “We only want the government to put the approval on fast-track mode, nothing else,” Shaikh said. The Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation had cited ₹323 crore as the project cost in its presentation to the Ayodhya Development Authority.

Initially support came from both Muslims and Hindus. Foundation convenor Athar Hussain said that we were overwhelmed by the response and financial support received from all over India. 50% of the callers are Hindus. But now shortage of funds is looming, and this is a challenge before Sheikh.

Sheikh, who is set to launch a website at the Mumbai conference this month, said he is hopeful that there will be no shortage of funds as the Muslim community will be able to raise them. He said the new website will have a QR code – any Indian anywhere in the world will be able to donate to projects ranging from mosques to hospitals to old age homes.
