BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj raised the issue of three students who lost their lives by drowning in water in the basement of a coaching centre in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. She said that these students from Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala had come to Delhi to become IAS. But due to the criminal negligence of the AAP government of Delhi, these children lost their lives. Along with this, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also cornered the AAP government of Delhi on the incident.

I request the Home Ministry to form an inquiry committee, which will investigate this entire matter.

After this accident, Delhi Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashwani Kumar has terminated the local JE and AE. This is the first major action of the corporation against the officials after the accident. Delhi Police has arrested seven people so far in the Old Rajinder Nagar incident. Two people were arrested earlier while Delhi Police has arrested five more people in this case.
