Amravati. While campaigning for elections on Sunday, someone threw a stone at Janasena Party leader and Tollywood actor Pawan Kalyan in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, but he narrowly escaped. The incident took place when actor Pawan Kalyan was doing Varahi Yatra in support of TDP-JSP-BJP candidates. The stone fell at some distance from the JSP leader.

Due to this incident tension spread during the rally. JSP workers caught the person throwing stones and handed him over to the police. The incident occurred a day after Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was injured in stone pelting during election campaigning in Vijayawada. The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief suffered an injury on his left eyebrow after being hit by a stone in Ajit Singh Nagar area on Saturday. Elections are to be held on May 13 for the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats.
