South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong have cemented a strategic partnership, pledging to significantly expand bilateral cooperation. The agreement, reached during a high-level summit in Seoul, encompasses key areas including defense, international trade, and technological innovation.
President Lee remarked on the shared characteristics of both nations, noting their impressive economic development achieved through investment in people and adherence to free trade principles, despite facing resource constraints and complex geopolitical situations. This shared perspective is expected to foster robust collaboration.
The newly established partnership will focus on enhancing joint capabilities in security and defense, pioneering advancements in AI and other high-tech fields, and strengthening people-to-people exchanges. A key objective is also to jointly tackle global threats, such as climate change and the rising tide of transnational crimes like cyber scams.
