Riyadh, 4 October – The Saudi‑led coalition fighting in Yemen dismissed the Houthi movement's statement that it had struck the Saudi capital as "misleading". The coalition said the claim was designed to conceal recent battlefield setbacks. Spokesperson Turki Al‑Maliki told the newspaper Ashrak al‑Awsat that the Houthis, after suffering material losses in the southwest Taiz region and on other fronts, are now trying to project a fictitious victory. The coalition argued that such assertions divert attention from the damage the group has endured, rising public anger over its tactics, and its connections with external actors.
