New Delhi buzzed with joy at the international airport as families reunited with their loved ones returning from Iran. The recent internet blackout in the Middle Eastern nation had sparked widespread anxiety among relatives back home, but safe arrivals turned worries into celebrations.

One family member shared their ordeal with reporters, recounting how their mother and aunt had embarked on a pilgrimage to Iran. ‘For the past week, with internet services down, we couldn’t reach them at all. It was an agonizing wait,’ they said, eyes lighting up as they described the relief of knowing their kin were en route.

Another relative revealed that their mother had arrived in Iran on January 7 for the religious journey. Communication flowed smoothly for the first couple of days, but after January 8, all contact ceased due to the shutdown. ‘She assured us everything was fine before the blackout. Now, hearing she’s coming back fills us with immense gratitude,’ they added.

Groups from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district gathered, waiting for fathers, sisters, and village folks. ‘The government stepped up big time. We’re thankful for bringing our people home safely,’ said one waiting father, praising the swift evacuation efforts.

Returning pilgrims dismissed rumors of chaos. ‘The atmosphere was a bit tense, but no major issues. Arrangements in Iran were impeccable,’ noted one traveler. Another countered protest narratives: ‘Some spread tales of riots, but from what my mother shared, things were under control. The Iranian authorities managed well, and India’s government, led by PM Modi, provided crucial support.’

A passenger who just landed elaborated, ‘Situations are normalizing now. Internet was cut for security, international calls failed initially, scaring us. But embassy aid and restored services eased everything.’

Others emphasized complete safety: ‘We were secure throughout. No incidents marred our trip. We chose to return on our own accord.’ One even downplayed the blackout: ‘Such measures happen worldwide for control. Tourists faced zero hassles; all remained normal.’

These heartwarming scenes underscore effective diplomatic coordination, restoring faith in governmental responsiveness amid global uncertainties. As families embraced their returning members, the airport echoed with thanks and renewed bonds.
