Now Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait has broken his silence on the farmers’ ‘Dilli March’. Rakesh Tikait has supported the new farmers’ movement and called it legitimate. He has warned the Central Government and said that if these farmers face problems then Delhi is not far for them too.
In Bengaluru, Karnataka, he further said – If any injustice is done to them (farmers) and the government creates any problem for them, then neither those farmers are far from us nor Delhi is far from us.
He said that farmers are doing fine. When their problems are not solved then protest is the only way out. Rakesh Tikait has also made his stand clear on the farmers’ movement. He said that there are many organizations of farmers in the country. They keep performing in their own way. We present our demands before the government. This time too farmers are coming to Delhi with their demands. They should be listened to. Rakesh Tikait was playing an active role in the farmers’ movement of 2020. His tears on the Ghazipur border had changed the course of the farmers’ movement. After this the central government had to withdraw the proposed agricultural laws.
At present, Bharatiya Kisan Union is not involved in this movement of farmers. Regarding this, Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait says, “This march has been called by the Kisan Union. These organizations had kept themselves away from the previous movement. None of these organizations have even contacted us. Everyone is doing programs in their own way. Whatever the government is doing is wrong. The problem should be solved by talking. “The government should not use nails etc.” He further said, “Our rural India is closed on 16th February. If they face problems, we will also become active. If there is a problem of farmers then they will march to Delhi. There are many organizations in the country. Farmers should not be stopped at the borders. Let them come. Everyone has the right to come.”
Tikait said that mandis have been abolished in Bihar, there is no platform for farmers there. This was the government earlier and the government with this ideology is there today. Today the farmers of Bihar are in the worst condition. Now labor is ready in Bihar and the same situation is to happen in the entire country.
Tikait said, “Big capitalist companies in the country have formed an organization and formed a political party and have taken over this country. In such a situation these problems will definitely arise. Some left for Delhi a day earlier and some would come two days later. If there is any injustice done to them (farmers) and the government creates any problem for them, then neither those farmers are far away from us nor Delhi is far away from us. The government should talk to them.
He said that before this, when the movement went on in Delhi for 13 months, there were 12 rounds of talks with our government. We have not had any talks with the Government of India since January 22, 2021. This conversation has started after 3 years. United Kisan Morcha is not yet involved in this movement. Samyukt Kisan Morcha has called for closure of rural India on 16th February. These are also from farmers organization. They left for Delhi, we are in their support. If there is any molestation with them then we will come.
Rakesh Tikait said, “When the opposition of the country is weak, dictators are born in the country. All political parties are one. Both those in power and those in opposition. They should save their government… When the king of the country is saying that we will win 400 seats, then where is the need for elections in the country?… You should renew this election. Why are you making the country crazy… “
