In a press briefing, the White House affirmed India’s crucial role in the Indo-Pacific, highlighting the close ties between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi. This affirmation came as External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is in the US for the QUAD Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. The QUAD, which includes Australia, India, Japan, and the United States, is focused on supporting a stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
