Moscow – In a warm message on India’s 77th Republic Day, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, spotlighting India’s esteemed position among the world’s leading powers and its high regard on international platforms.
Putin emphasized that India’s achievements in social, economic, scientific, and technological fields are universally acknowledged. ‘Your country rightfully holds its place among the world’s major powers and enjoys high respect on the international stage,’ he stated in his message.
Reflecting on his December 2025 visit to India, Putin recalled the fruitful discussions that reaffirmed the successful evolution of the special and privileged strategic partnership between Moscow and New Delhi.
He expressed confidence that joint efforts would continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation across all sectors, while enhancing collaboration on regional and international agendas. This aligns perfectly with the interests of the peoples of Russia and India, contributing to the creation of a just multipolar world order.
Concluding his message, Putin extended wishes for health, success, prosperity, and well-being to all Indian citizens.
Earlier, during Putin’s visit on December 5, 2025, at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, PM Modi held talks focusing on bolstering bilateral ties in economy, defense, trade, and more. In a joint press statement, Modi noted that India-Russia relations have stood the test of time.
He thanked Putin for his friendship and unwavering commitment to India, highlighting Russia’s consistent efforts to elevate bilateral relations. ‘Today, I am delighted to welcome President Putin to the 23rd India-Russia Summit. His visit comes at a time when our bilateral relations are touching historic milestones,’ Modi said.
Modi recalled that 25 years ago, Putin laid the foundation of their strategic partnership, which was elevated to a special privileged strategic partnership in 2010. Over the past one-and-a-half decades, Putin’s leadership has nurtured this bond.
