Karachi is facing acute water shortages due to a power disruption at the Dhabeji Pumping Station. The outage has significantly reduced the city’s water supply, causing widespread disruption across different localities. The city currently has a water shortage exceeding 350 million gallons per day, further straining the already insufficient daily supply. Two feeders of the K-III Pumping House at the Dhabeji Pumping Station have been out of service for an extended period. K-Electric is working to repair an underground cable fault, but repair efforts have been hampered by accumulated rainwater. Additional outages at the Damloti Pumping Station have also contributed to supply issues in several areas of the city.
