Pope Francis is not going to attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in London subsequent week, as a substitute sending his de-facto overseas minister, the Vatican mentioned on Friday.
“The Maximum Reverend Paul Gallagher, secretary for members of the family with states and world organisations, will constitute Pope Francis on the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” it mentioned in a commentary.
Previous this week, Pope Francis despatched a message of condolence to Britain’s new head of state, King Charles III.
He mentioned, “Deeply saddened to be informed of the demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, I be offering heartfelt condolences to Your Majesty, the Contributors of the Royal Circle of relatives, the Other people of the UK and the Commonwealth.”
