New Delhi marked the start of the Parliament’s Budget Session with a momentous address by President Droupadi Murmu to both houses on Wednesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the speech as a guiding light for India’s development journey in the months ahead.
In a post on X, PM Modi described the address as inspirational, underscoring its pivotal role in parliamentary traditions. ‘This speech outlines the policy direction and collective resolve that will steer our nation’s progress,’ he wrote.
Modi highlighted the address’s comprehensive nature, reflecting India’s remarkable recent achievements while charting a clear path forward. He emphasized the focus on building a developed India, symbolizing the shared aspiration for a strong, self-reliant nation.
The Prime Minister noted the speech’s coverage of ongoing efforts for farmers, youth, the poor, and marginalized communities. It reaffirmed commitments to accelerating reforms, fostering innovation, and ensuring good governance.
Earlier, President Murmu detailed the government’s accomplishments, praising key initiatives. She stressed the sensitive approach towards Dalits, backward classes, deprived sections, and tribal societies. The ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ vision is positively impacting every citizen’s life.
Murmu pointed out that in 2014, social security schemes reached only 25 crore people. Thanks to sustained efforts, nearly 95 crore Indians now benefit from these protections.
The President expressed satisfaction that youth, farmers, workers, and entrepreneurs are expanding their roles in building a developed India, backed by encouraging statistics from the past year.
This address sets an optimistic tone for the Budget Session, promising continued momentum in India’s transformative journey.
