In Kotri, Sindh, Pakistan, a Hindu man was violently attacked in a shocking incident. His only transgression was eating at a local restaurant. Daulat Bagri, the victim, was dining at the eatery when he was confronted. The restaurant owner and others objected to his presence, subsequently binding him, beating him severely, and stealing 60,000 rupees. Daulat pleaded for mercy during the attack, but the assault continued. The video of the event has gone viral, leading to widespread public outrage and demands for justice. Following Daulat’s complaint, the Kotri police registered a case against the perpetrators, including the restaurant owner. Despite the FIR, no arrests have been made. Before the case was filed, a petition was presented in the Jamshoro District and Sessions Court, accusing the SSP and SHO Jamshoro of neglecting their duties. This incident underscores the persistent social prejudice and violence faced by Hindu minorities in Pakistan, specifically vulnerable communities like the Bagri, who endure religious inequality, social ostracism, and administrative negligence.
