After the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir government has taken a big decision. Taking precautionary measures, the government has temporarily closed 48 out of 87 tourist places in the valley. The Omar government has taken this decision on the recommendation of the security agencies.
The purpose of this decision is to ensure safety of tourists and avoid any possible threat. Since the Pahalgam attack, the number of tourists in the Kashmir Valley has fallen significantly. There has been a significant decrease in the arrival of passengers at Srinagar Airport. According to sources, some sleeper cells have become active in the valley after the Pahalgam attack, instructing them to initiate activity.
In this case, the administration says that the situation is constantly being monitored and security system is being given priority. The government has assured that as soon as the situation is normal, tourist destinations will be reopened to tourists.
