North Korea fires medium‑range strategic missile, Kim pushes boost in strike power

North Korean state media released photographs that show leader Kim Jong-un observing a missile launch together with his daughter Ju‑Ae and wife Ri Sol‑ju. The missile, described as a medium‑range strategic weapon, was fired early Saturday toward the East Sea and is believed to have travelled about 1,000 kilometres before reaching its target. During the briefing, Kim emphasized that the nation must persist in enhancing the lethal capability of its offensive arsenal. He added that demonstrating a reliable strike capacity keeps potential adversaries aware of the strength of North Korea’s strategic weapons.
