Nissan X-Trail will enter the Indian market on this day, know what is special in it and its price

Nissan X-Trail: Nissan has introduced its fourth generation X-Trail SUV in India a few days ago. Now the company is going to launch it on August 1. X-Trail is being brought to the Indian market as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), so its positioning will be premium like Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. This X-Trail will be important for Nissan as it will maintain the company’s sales until mainstream SUVs arrive from 2025.

Design and colours of Nissan X-Trail

Based on the CMF-C platform, the fourth-generation X-Trail has been on sale overseas since 2021 in 5 and 7-seater forms, while India will get a three-row version. The X-Trail has an upright and square look and features a split-headlamp setup, ‘V-motion’ grille finished in dark chrome, rounded wheel arches with plastic cladding, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and wraparound LED tail-lamps.

Nissan will offer the X-Trail in India in Diamond Black, Champagne Silver and Pearl White colours. According to Senior Vice President Alfonso Albaisa, these colours have been chosen to better position the X-Trail as a premium offering.

The X-Trail measures 4,680 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,725 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,705 mm. The 7-seater SUV has a turning radius of 5.5 metres, a ground clearance of 210 mm and is fitted with 255/45 R20 tyres.

Engine and Performance

The Nissan X-Trail will get a sole 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with a 12-volt mild-hybrid system. The power output is 161 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque, paired with a CVT automatic gearbox. For India, the X-Trail will come only in front-wheel drive (FWD) configuration, while overseas it is also available in an all-wheel drive (AWD) version with a 2.5-litre petrol engine.

Expected price

The new Nissan X-Trail will come to India in a 7-seater configuration, which will put it in competition with models like the Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. It will also compete with the Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X. It is expected to be priced around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
