MP Satnam Sandhu emphasized the importance of the Indian diaspora’s significant contribution, exceeding 35 million individuals, in enhancing India’s soft power globally. He recognized the remarkable contributions of Indian Americans. He noted the strong and cordial relationship between India and the US, with the Indian diaspora playing a crucial role in strengthening these ties. He stressed the need to maintain these relationships in the future, recalling the long history between the US and India, which began with the Ghadar Party’s efforts during the independence movement. He also remembered the sacrifices during the Komagata Maru incident and emphasized the need to strengthen these relationships. Social media posts from the consulate highlighted the celebration of the 79th Independence Day at the India Day Parade, recognizing it as the largest parade outside India.
