Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin have spoken by phone, focusing on the rising tensions in the Middle East, particularly the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office reported the conversation, which was also acknowledged by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The recent call is the second between the two leaders within a week, following earlier discussions regarding Syria and Iran. This is indicative of Netanyahu’s attempts to engage in diplomatic efforts, even with leaders outside the US, given the criticism and pressure from the US and European countries regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
