India is closely observing the unfolding events in Nepal, where youth-led protests have resulted in violence and instability. The Indian government has issued an advisory, urging its citizens in Nepal to exercise caution and follow local safety protocols. The protests were sparked by the government’s decision to restrict access to numerous social media platforms.

A major escalation occurred when protesters set fire to the Nepal parliament. The incident caused significant damage, with visuals showing extensive flames and smoke. The MEA expressed deep sadness regarding the loss of life, offering condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured. The MEA also called for restraint and dialogue to resolve the ongoing issues.

Curfews have been imposed in Kathmandu and other major cities. Indian citizens are advised to stay informed and heed the guidance from Nepali authorities. Protests took place in multiple cities, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Itahari, and Chitwan. Police used force in multiple locations, leading to casualties.
