Following injuries sustained during Gen-Z protests, Rabi Laxmi Chitrakar, the wife of former Nepalese Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, has been transferred to India for specialized medical attention. The incident, which occurred on September 9th, involved a fire at Khanal’s residence in the Dallu district of Kathmandu. Chitrakar, who suffered burns affecting approximately 15% of her body, had been receiving initial treatment in Kirtipur. Reports indicate that the burns included significant damage to her left arm, along with a chest infection resulting from smoke inhalation. Jhala Nath Khanal was Prime Minister of Nepal from February to August 2011 and remains an active political figure. The health of Rabi Laxmi Chitrakar is currently under close observation by medical professionals.
