A train journey turned into a nightmare on Saturday evening in Cambridgeshire, UK, when a mass stabbing incident resulted in ten injuries, nine of them critical. British Transport Police reported that the attack occurred on the 6:25 PM service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross. The train was stopped at Huntingdon station, allowing for an immediate response from police and emergency medical teams.

In response to the severity of the incident, a major incident has been declared. Counter Terrorism Policing is collaborating with BTP on the investigation, and two suspects are in custody. The police chief described the stabbing spree as “deeply shocking” and stressed the importance of allowing the investigation to proceed without speculation.

Ongoing police efforts have led to a halt in train services through the area, with cordons established for operational purposes. National leaders have expressed dismay, with the Prime Minister deeming the attack “appalling” and the Home Secretary receiving regular briefings. The public is advised to avoid the vicinity and rely on official police communications.
