According to the Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon has advanced into some more parts of central India. According to the IMD, heavy rains are “likely” to occur in West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya during the next 3-4 days. Also, light to moderate rains are expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and West Bengal, Sikkim during the next 7 days. According to the IMD, heavy rains may occur in some areas of Meghalaya between June 15 and June 19 and in Assam between June 17 and June 19. The Meteorological Department said that there may be some rain in Kerala and Telangana today. Whereas, heavy rains are likely in some areas of Odisha on June 18 and 19. Apart from this, “light to moderate rains” may also occur in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha in the next four days.
