Bhubaneswar. Due to Microsoft’s outage, services in various areas in the country as well as abroad have been badly affected. Due to the outage, manual services are being provided to the passengers at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. This is causing delay in departure and landing of flights at the airport.
Millions of Windows users around the world are facing errors, which Microsoft said was caused by the recent CrowdStrike update. Microsoft has said that it is investigating the problem. Due to the outage, services have been badly affected in various areas in the country as well as abroad. Talking about flight services, IndiGo, Akasa Air, Vistara and Spicejet, among other airlines, are facing problems.
IndiGo said through a tweet, “Our systems are currently affected by a Microsoft outage, which is also affecting other companies. Bookings, check-in, access to boarding passes and some flights may be affected at this time…”
Similarly, SpiceJet also tweeted, “We are currently experiencing technical challenges with our service provider, impacting online services such as booking, check-in, and booking management functionalities. As a result, we have activated manual check-in and boarding processes at airports. We request passengers with upcoming travel plans to reach the airport earlier than usual to complete check-in at our counters…”
Apart from India, outages were also reported in the US, London, Australia, Germany, the UK and other countries. Banking services were also badly affected in some places in India. Several reports said that railway services were also affected in many parts of the country.
