The Dallas Police Department arrested Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, 37, in connection with the brutal beheading of Chandra Nagamallaiah. The incident occurred at the Downtown Suites motel, where Nagamallaiah served as the manager. The confrontation allegedly stemmed from a disagreement over a broken washing machine. Cobos-Martinez is reported to have stabbed Nagamallaiah multiple times before chasing him and committing the act. Cobos-Martinez was arrested at the scene and was in possession of the weapon, the victim’s phone, and a key card. He later admitted to the killing during questioning and is now held on an immigration hold. The murder has sent shockwaves through the Indian community, with many expressing concern about the lack of media coverage and the safety of immigrant workers. Nagamallaiah, originally from Karnataka, was remembered by colleagues and community members as a hardworking family man.
