New Delhi witnessed warm reflections from Malaysia’s House of Representatives member M. Kulasegaran on his recent interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During PM Modi’s two-day visit to Malaysia, the meeting with key leaders, including Kulasegaran, stood out as particularly productive.

Kulasegaran described the encounter as not just beneficial but also enjoyable. He highlighted pressing issues like skills training collaboration, where India’s advancements in artificial intelligence, big data, lunar missions, and scientific research could greatly aid Malaysia. ‘PM Modi assured us he’d consider these points seriously,’ Kulasegaran noted, emphasizing support for the Indian diaspora in Malaysia.

The Malaysian MP praised Modi’s personal touch, limiting the meeting to just 15 parliamentary members, senators, ministers, and deputy ministers. ‘It was a rare opportunity, and his approachable demeanor made it engaging,’ he said. Having met Modi before, this was their first substantive discussion, which felt genuine and forward-looking.

Kulasegaran lauded Modi’s vision for global change, fostering friendships beyond India to promote peace and stability. On terrorism, he echoed Modi’s zero-tolerance stance, warning that ignoring it anywhere could lead to domestic threats. ‘Nations must unite to control it,’ he urged, calling for collective vigilance between Malaysia, India, and the world.

This diplomatic exchange underscores strengthening India-Malaysia ties, promising mutual growth in technology, skills, and security. As global challenges mount, such candid dialogues pave the way for collaborative progress and regional harmony.
