Major attack on France’s rail network before the start of the Olympics; 8 lakh railway passengers will be affected due to separate incidents of “sabotage”

Paris. A few hours before the opening ceremony of the Olympics in the French capital Paris on Friday, several rail lines of France’s high-speed rail network, including SNCF’s Atlantic, Northern and Eastern, were vandalized and set on fire at the same time. Wires in railway stations were also burnt. It is not yet known who is behind this incident.

PM called the attack a conspiracy

This attack on the railway affected about 2.5 lakh passengers today. The repairs will take a week, during which about 8 lakh passengers will be affected. French PM Gabriel Attal said that this incident is a well-planned conspiracy to disrupt the Olympics.

177 players from India will also participate in the Olympics

Let us tell you, the Olympics have been organized in Paris from 26 July to 11 August, in which 10,506 players from 206 countries have come to participate. 117 players from India have also gone to France to participate in it. In such a situation, such a horrific incident has become a matter of concern about the safety of players and spectators in the Olympics. After this incident, SNCF (Railway) has urged passengers to postpone their journeys and stay away from train stations.

In this case, Transport Minister Patrice Vergit said that this large-scale attack on France’s high-speed TGV rail network is a disgusting and criminal act. It will have very serious consequences for rail traffic this week, as connections towards northern, eastern and northwestern France have been halved, while Jean-Pierre Farandou, chief executive of rail operator SNCF, said that 800,000 passengers have been affected. Trains are being sent to different tracks “but we will have to cancel a large number of them”. The south-eastern line was not affected as the malicious act has been thwarted. At present, the Paris administration has started investigating the attack.
