French President Emmanuel Macron is set to embark on a significant three-day official visit to India from February 17 to 19, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This high-profile trip underscores the deepening strategic partnership between the two nations, building on Modi’s recent visit to France.

The centerpiece of Macron’s itinerary is his participation in the groundbreaking India-AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16 to 20. As the first major AI summit hosted in the Global South, it will draw global leaders, policymakers, industry titans, and experts to explore AI’s transformative potential in governance, innovation, and sustainable development.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the summit, highlighting AI’s pivotal role in India’s development journey. From enhancing public service delivery to fostering inclusive growth, AI aligns seamlessly with Vision India@2047. India’s linguistic and cultural diversity positions it uniquely to pioneer multilingual, multi-model AI systems tailored to diverse needs.

During the visit, Modi and Macron will review progress on the Horizon 2047 roadmap, strengthening cooperation across key sectors. Discussions will also cover mutual interests in regional and global issues, including Indo-Pacific collaboration. A highlight will be the joint inauguration of the India-France Year of Innovation in Mumbai, an initiative set to run throughout 2026, fostering breakthroughs in technology and creativity.

This visit reaffirms the mutual trust and commitment to elevate India-France ties, signaling a new era of strategic peace and collaboration. As the world grapples with AI’s rapid evolution, India’s hosting of this summit positions it as a global leader in responsible AI adoption.
