Six Pakistani soldiers, including a Captain, were killed in a violent IED explosion in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday. The military convoy was reportedly en route when it was targeted by terrorists in the Sultani area. Following the detonation of the IED, an exchange of fire ensued, during which seven militants were killed by retaliatory fire from security forces. The military stated that the area has been cordoned off and a thorough search operation is in progress. This incident underscores the persistent threat of terrorism in Pakistan’s northwestern regions.
